I've been trying out different protein shakes, always vanilla flavored, trying to find ones that balance the taste and nutrition aspects well. While this one has some good nutrition behind it, the taste is terrible! I ended up giving away most of the case (but it was hard to find someone who wanted them after tasting just one).

The problem is, is that I have tasted the evolution of the flavor changes of protein drinks over the years and it’s Always been a tolerance( just like drinking Raw eggs is a learned tolerance) and I know there are, at least, a few others that I really like. So, you can say that I’m picky. It’s just from a lifetime of trying them all, as thI will say this: As I’ve stated, the ingredients and protein content are Perfect! I’m impressed that it has 30grams of protein, in such a small amount and not super thick. The cost is also fair. The fact is, I’m not a fan of this products taste. I will leave you with this, if I were at the gym and I had forgotten my concoction of the day, I would be Extremely Happy to purchase one of these from the machine though. That’s a fact! I need to compromise a 5 star product, with a 2 star taste and give it 3 stars. I sincerely hope this helps you and Who knows, you may love it. In that case, this is an awesome mix. Ps: I forgot. The packaging of this is Amazing! See folks, I have been a health nut, as the saying goes, for Over 40 years. I used the first protein drinks ever formulated; when they tasted like cardboard flavored water. I’ve never stopped. For over 40 years, I’ve had multiple Raw eggs almost Every morning, if or when I didn’t have a protein supplement in lieu of them. I’m only sharing this, to explain that I definitely know my supplements. As for the formula of this drink and the amount of protein, I see it to be as good as it gets. Seriously 5 Stars, all the way! This product - Foundation Fitness Protein Nutritional Shake (VANILLA flavor) - comes in a can.The 12 cans were securely packaged.I enjoy this Vanilla flavor, although it is not as sweet as I would have liked.This shake has a creamy consistency, with a smooth taste as I drink it.I drank this cold after leaving it in the fridge over-night.I also drank it slightly warm after taking it out of the fridge, leaving it on the counter for about 1 hour, and then drinking it. I just wanted to see the difference.It definitely tastes much better when it's cold; the vanilla flavor was more inviting when cold. I won't be drinking it if it's not cold.The directions say to shake well. So, I did. Then, I put it down on the counter, tapped the top of the can continuously with my fingers for about 30 seconds, then opened it (same method for when I drop a soda can on the floor); typically, the liquid doesn't not spray upon opening.Also, I went to the fridge at work, shook the can, then put it back in the fridge, and came back in 15 minutes to drink it (after doing the tapping method) - no spray.Some nutritional facts:Calories = 160Total fat =3.5 gmCholesterol = 15 mgSodium = 45 mgTotal Carbohydrate = 10 gmProtein = 30 gmThere are 24 vitamins and minerals listed in the nutrition section of the labelIngredients include: water, milk protein concentrate, calcium caseinate, erythritolThere are lots more ingredients.One thing I did not like about this product is that it comes in a can. I really like the natural vanilla flavor of this protein drink and there is only a slight off-flavor and aftertaste from the sweetener. The mouthfeel is good, slightly thick and creamy but not so thick that I would call it a shake. There are no scary ingredients. It has added vitamins and minerals which I don't really want or need because I take a multivitamin and mineral supplement, but that's not a big deal. I wish it provided some fiber, but again, that's not a big deal, I can get fiber from other foods and supplements. All twelve cans arrived in perfect condition and unlike cartons or other types of containers, aluminum cans are almost universally recyclable.So why only one star? The numbers simply don't add up. If the drink actually contains 30 g of protein, 10 g of carbohydrates, and 3.5 g of fat as claimed, then it should have about 190 calories. That's a significant difference from the 160 calories claimed on the label and it's too big of a difference to account for by rounding or similar. I am well aware that nutritional values on labels are often incorrect but this is egregious. If I can't trust what's on the label, I can't trust what's in the can.
