Amazing! Just like the Brabantia ironing board I had 20 years ago!
I owned a Brabentia wide ironing board 20 years ago, loved using it (as weird as that sounds), and then “lost” it during a divorce... and I’ve longed for one ever since. These are so much nicer than any other ironing board out there. My new ironing board arrived today, and it’s just as sturdy and as well made as the one I used to have, which is so nice, since many companies seem to be downgrading their build quality these days.My ironing board was MADE IN LATVIA (not made in China, like nearly all the cheaply built ones you find from the discount/big box stores). And it’s incredibly sturdy. It doesn’t wobble or shift as you use it. The rack underneath the board is removable, but I‘ll keep it attached since it’s very handy to use for items waiting to be ironed/folded items that have been ironed, for holding a basket of hangers, for holding tailor’s hams or wool pressing mats, or if you have a steam generator for an iron, as long as the generator weighs less than 5 pounds or so. The rack is quite sturdy, and the iron rest is also sturdy and stable, with an adjustable arm to help secure your iron. The ironing surface is wider and a bit shorter than ones found on standard boards, so it’s easier and faster to iron linens and fabrics for quilting and sewing. But it’s not too wide for ironing clothing, and the small amount of board length lost poses no issues, really. This is a perfect proportion, in my opinion. If you’ve only had a narrow “standard” ironing board before, it might take some getting used to, but after using one of these a couple times, I doubt you’ll ever want to go back to a narrow one! There’s really no reason to want to.I also like that the board adjusts to a taller height than my old one, which is easier on my arthritic neck and back, but it can also be adjusted lower, to be used from a seated position (I’m disabled, so this was important to me to have the option). And it doesn’t squeak at all (some are like nails on a chalkboard!) when you open or close it. This is so much more stable than a more narrow board with the same style legs, and 1,000 times more stable than all of those T-leg boards out there! I plan to keep mine set up most of the time, but will mount a wall holder for those times when I need to put it away. The ironing board comes with a 10-year warranty and registration instructions (so save the printed card and large card stock insert with product info, since your barcode for registration is there).I do not work for this company or for Amazon (or for any company, since I’m disabled and unable to work, lol) and I am not being paid or provided with any other consideration in exchange for this review. I’m writing this because I find reviews to be helpful to me when making decisions, and I would like to help others, as well. I tend to overthink things, and am a bit of a perfectionist, so I tend to look for what is “wrong” with things, and if anything wasn’t perfect about this, I’d mention it (I’m whiney like that lol). So if this review has been helpful, please let me know by clicking the button below. I’ll update my review if anything changes, but I doubt I’ll ever have to. This ironing board functions, looks and feels just like the one I used for many years, and that one never gave me any issues at all.

Very nice, stable too!
I love the wider top and the iron rest at the end. It's very sturdy as far as ironing boards go.Observations:•The placement for the height adjustment release is a little hard to reach on the far side, it's tucked under.•The narrow end isn't quite as narrow as a standard ironing board making it difficult to tuck into tight spots and curved seams.•The bottom rack, for me, is virtually useless it's obstructed by most things when they are draped over the board. And it's in the way if I need to be seated while ironing. Knees knock against it. (I'm old, sometimes I need to sit.)I'd like to remove it but not sure if it's part of the structural integrity of the board itself.•A way to hang or set a spray bottle at the end where the iron sits would be very handy. Just a little bar that the sprayer handle could be hooked on would be sufficient. To keep the sprayer off the board itself and prevent it getting bumped off.Overall, a very nice ironing board.

Great ironing board, good warranty service
This ironing board is much better than cheapie we had before - more stable, can be set up higher, a bit wider, has better cover that does not come off, and overall just works well. Sadly, after two years of service one of the wimpy welds on it gave up making it unusable, but that gave me an opportunity to check on that 10 years warranty... and it turned out to be real! Great customer service, got new replacement board in less than a week. There are some reviews here with concerns about warranty service in US, but that seems to not be a problem.

Best ironing board I have owned
This is far and away the best ironing board I have owned. I do a lot of ironing and have years of experience. This is the sturdiest board I have ever used. Stable, not wobbly. The pad is nice and thick, so you don't feel the metal frame through it. At first it took a bit of getting used to when opening it, only because it doesn't fall open easily, but that also it a testament to the quality and firm foundation you are getting. I highly recommend this, and I look forward to having it for years to come.*One note, the iron stand seems to be set up for a right handed person. I am not sure if it can be reset to work for a lefty. I'll update if I can find that it can. Othersie, it is a case of a lefty living in a right handed world.

Replaced foam with wool felt
I like almost everything about this ironing board--the sturdy construction, the wide board, and the tall height setting. The flimsy foam pad, however, was a disappointment. My mom (a sewing teacher) recommended replacing the foam with a natural-fiber pad. Typically, this would be cotton, but I used two layers of 1/4-inch-thick wool felt, leftover from an upholstery project. Best pad ever! I bought the felt from DIY Natural Bedding (dot) com, which also sells organic cotton twill suitable for an ironing board cover.

Love it
Honestly this is the best ironing board I have ever owned! Very sturdy and solidly made. It is a little heavy but I wanted that. I like that if I bump into it that not everything is sent flying. The only thing that I can complain about is that the outer cover had a very slight nick or rip in the fabric on the side (from shipping I'm guessing) but I didn't notice it until it was beyond the return date. Guess I'll have to end up buying a replacement at some point or try to repair it some way. Other than that I would solidly recommend this ironing board. I would buy it again. Worth the investment.

Superb Quality Throughout!
It's not often that you come across such quality in an ironing board, but Brabantia exceeds expectations with this "C" model ironing board! Everything about it is perfect for the best ironing experience I've ever had. I especially love how easy it is to adjust the height, the solid stability, the extra wide board making ironing larger items so much easier, the quality and security of the stainless steel iron holder and the shelf below to hold ironed and folded clothing. IMHO, this ironing board is a one-time purchase for a lifetime. I am 70 yrs. old with years of ironing experience and I am not employed by or affiliated with Brabantia.

Very good but...
The iron holder is right up on the short square edge, not lower and an inch apart as it should be in order to make use of that edge more effectively. Otherwise fairly study and wide.
