Piece of junk.
It took a very long time to hone the blade to a usable level. The metal isn't very high quality and the cheap plastic handle isn't nice at all. If you're looking for a first straight razor, keep looking. Or just stick to a safety razor. Honestly, the straight razor isn't an upgrade anyway.

Good Starter Razor
This is a great starter straight razor but it isn't "shave ready". I bought this razor more as a practice razor to learn how to strop so that I would damage a more expensive truly shave ready razor.If you get this you will need to have it honed and strop'ed to get it to where it will actually shave comfortably.

Wonderful Customer Service!!!
I have bought Gold Dollar Straight Razors from Amazon and had no complaints till this arrived. Blade was VERY badly sharpened. Uneven, burrs, and the heel was ground 3/4 of the blade. The scales are totally off and so crooked that this feels funny when holding it. I guess quality control was out to lunch when this razor came through. Not happy with this item. But Cindy from Weishi more than made up for it. Class act!!!!!

Good for the price, great for learning.
It arrives sharpened, but this is not a "shave ready" razor by any means. However, if you have the ability to hone it properly, it will perform well, and you cannot beat what it costs. Great for someone who wants to learn how to hone and maintain a straight razor before buying an expensive one that a novice could potentially ruin.

Worth the money
This is a fantastic razor if you want to practice with a dull blade, or practice honing. It can hold an edge pretty well, and gives a good clean shave. It was a bit scratched up on the tip when i got it, but nothing that affected the shave. Overall, a great buy for a low price.

Might work if you have the tools for a blunt edge.
I was happy to have received this item until i saw the edge it had. It is blunt, it couldn't even cut me if i ran my finger across the edge. In the end i couldn't use it for shaving.
