General Contractor now with two on my personal home.
A flood light with a motion sensor has never been an exiting feature on a home until now. Well a little closer. I was pointed to RAB by my local lighting supplier (not big box store) after having a discussion regarding my displeasure with whats available for a reasonable price. I was needing to replace two existing glitchy floods on my home. So with the recommendation from my supplier I bought my first RAB from Amazon (lower price than my supplier) about two years ago and just received and installed my second one. I am considering a third one. What I like about these lights and from what I've heard from my lighting supplier is that they are a little more technically sound. The motion coverage is scalable, reliable, and broad. The metal parts aren't the best but not the worst. They are still stamped out like any other flood light. However, there isn't much more to gain by paying for and mounting a heavy gauge hunk of steel to the side of your home so its okay. I have determined that I will be utilizing one of the RAB product lines on our higher end custom homes. And more than likely on the lower cost ones as well. So far so good.Good luck to you. I believe the odds are in your favor for success.P.S. Stay away from the box stores. Nothing they have compares.***Update 4/19/2015***Recap. I have two of these lights on my personal home and a hand full of others (purchased from local lighting vendors) on clients homes. I have had no call backs from my clients. The lights are still going strong. For my personal home, the lights have had no glitches or hiccups. They have worked consistently since the day they were installed. Hope this helps.

Works like it should and comes with everything you need
Outdoor security lights have to stand up to the elements and still be reliable. I certainly don't intend to get up on a ladder to maintain these lights any more than I have to. Rain, snow, sun-baked heat, and wildlife can take a toll on these lamps. You just can't rely on the $20 motion detector lamps. I paid more like $90 for these and as soon as I opened the box I knew it was the right choice. The assembly is constructed well, comes with clear, detailed instructions in English, and is well supplied with all kinds of accessories. It includes mounting hardware for any situation, wire joiners, gaskets, and even a hook for hanging the assembly while wiring it up. They clearly care about the customer experiences, which is rare these days. The light is well made, being entirely metal. But more than just the construction, the sensor is top notch. It has superb coverage of the security area and is just the right amount of sensitive. To my surprise, the lamp seems to be adjusted perfectly on the first try. It also has more intelligence, especially with the twilight timer and test mode. When it comes time to replace the older lamp on the other side of the building I will be buying another one of these without hesitation. That's the highest praise I can give.

High Quality Product
I turned to Amazon after the 'nicest' motion sensor at Home Depot was turning on frequently at night and eventually started turning on and never turning off. After searching around, I spent some extra money in hopes of quality and purchased the RAB Lighting STL360H.This is a solid, well-assembled product, and it also performs. It is mounted with LED lighting on the shed in our backyard where it easily covers the ~100' range right up to our back door. With some care in aligning the sensor it easily picks us up as soon as we step outside. Even our Boston Terrier triggers it when she moves around. Conversely, we very rarely spot it turning on as a result of a false positive. I didn't expect to enjoy this tradeoff. A small and sparse tree in the sensor's path doesn't seem to bother it and included shutters allow us to block our neighbor's yard from its view.Installation was not complicated, though patience is needed for some steps and the process would be simplified considerably with a second pair of hands to help out.The heads provide a good range of movement and everything holds comfortably in position once tightened, even with snow piled atop (do seal where product meets surface with a separately purchased all-weather outdoor sealant, if appropriate for the installation location). Speaking of which, it has handled rain, piled snow, and caked ice quite admirably to date.If I could think of anything to change (aside from wanting a PAR 30 version of this excellent product) it would be to have a less ominous sensor. It looks like it will shoot lasers and wasps at any who wander too close; a sense exaggerated by the red lights that track back and forth. An option for the light would also have been nice. But it's almost endearing, and for its application as a security light these can only be features.

You get what you pay for
You're paying for a commercial grade sensor. Since PAR38 LED flood lights can now be found on sale for only $5 each, it is worth putting the money into the sensor. Easy to install, operate and performs flawlessly with sweeping coverage and amazing sensitivity. NO false triggers since being installed in the spring! It looks far less imposing on the wall than in the box. The RAB will pay for itself in energy savings compared to those cheap big box sensors that go off with every gust of wind. And since it only goes off when its supposed to, the family doesn't play with the light switch anymore either leaving the flood lights on all night wasting money or turning it off and defeating the whole purpose! Install it and forget about it. Highly recommended!
