In Bhutan, 1938, the Chinese are at war with the Japanese. Three men and two women use their prodigious combat skills to stop Japan's General Toga (Tatsuya Matsui) building a poison gas chamber in the City of Kaal. These resistors are joined by whip-wielding Chu King (Michelle Yeoh), and use a combination of martial arts and conventional warfare to repel the Japanese scheme.

Michelle Yeoh is Magnificent, the rest aren't!!
Some decent fight scenes in here and Michelle had a really cute smile when she was younger and chubbier. However, overall the movie is disjointed and the pathetic attempts at comedy really take the edge off the movie. Even amongst all the bad humour, badly arranged scenes and some bad acting on the part of some of the actors, Michelle Yeoh manages to come out unscathed. If you took out the bad humour, had Michelle Yeoh on her own against the Japanese (because frankly there is no need for the male lead), and a slightly better thought out plot, this could have been a real pearler. It's an OK movie without providing any real movie magic.

Great title at a great price!
I would have given this five stars if;1. The dvd was firmly in place prior to posting because when i received it, it had moved around everywhere which had resulted in some minor scratches although when I played it, it was fine.2. The dvd sleeve was in immacculate condition.I know it sounds like I'm being a bit picky but I'm a collector and these little things matter to me!

Michelle Yeoh is totally awesome & for fans of her movies you have to say she is QUEEN of the action movies,from her previous old action flicks, to her latest uptodates as she excells in the movie screen icon number one action warrior of decades & she's still the legendary number one action hero of the day. Watch her in this film & you will never want to put the remote controll down. She's just like the title....MAGNIFICENT!!!
