I purchased this product because I had a salad spinner (different brand) that broke last year after only a few months' use and I was longing for a salad spinner to simplify my weekly salad preparation ritual.My past salad spinner had a manual turning mechanism that was physically demanding and which made it difficult to store in my cupboard and refrigerator because it added a vertical height to the salad spinner of around 4 inches (which is a big deal in a fridge in my opinion).Therefore, my criteria when considering purchasing a new salad spinner were the following:- A push mechanism, rather than a manual turning mechanism- A locking feature on the push button to reduce vertical height- A more notable brand less inclined to break within a few months of useThis salad spinner met all of those criteria, so purchase it I did.I am satisfied with my purchase and recommend this product to others looking for a salad spinner! So far, it has continued to meet those criteria listed above. The following is one caveat to the product's features which I feel could be improved by OXO in future designs.The lock mechanism does not enter into the push button as far as it should and is too easily unlocked. For example, sometimes, the lock becomes unlocked and the push button springs to full height when I accidentally set the spinner down too hard on the counter or if I tap the lid to the spinner. In other words, the lock mechanism is a little touchy.This issue is slight and in my opinion, does not detract so much from the product that I am dissatisfied with it. But, it can be slightly annoying and shocking when the lock inadvertently allows the push button to spring upwards. I am almost wondering if this is just a manufacturing error with a small batch of these spinners, because usually OXO is on top of the functionality of their products, in my experience.I recommend this product!

I had the original OXO salad spinner for almost 20 years. It still worked very well given it's age, but I thought it was time to replace it because the locking mechanism was getting hard to release. I was also really worried about what type of mold situation might be happening under the lid.Just like the original, this one works great. However, it is sturdier and much more sanitary. It is a bit smaller than the original, but I am okay with that.

Just convinced my mom to get rid of our old salad spinner because the middle mechanism smelled like mildew. Our old one was Oxo (from like 30 years ago) and so I figured I’d get the same brand since we liked the other so much and love to find out they have improved the design!!! It is now dishwasher safe and the top mechanism separates and is protected by like an inner plate so it doesn’t get wet and can be just quickly wiped off with a dry towel (don’t even have to do that really). Super pleased with it so far.

It’s a really good size. I had the OXO salad spinner before and it lasted a long time. I love the brand. What I like about this version is that it has a lock for the pumpy thingy so it’s easier to store in small, low places.

I love making salads, but I absolutely hate drying the lettuce or not drying the lettuce and having a soggy salad. My sister told me I needed the salads better in my life and I absolutely love this product. It is not only super easy to use but it is super easy to clean. The pusher part also locked down so it’s easy to store inside your cabinet. My sister also open my eyes to the fact that I could spend more than just salad like vegetables or grapes or whatever I needed to get the water out of and I am super happy with this purchase. You definitely need one in your life. 😂😉

I would have easily given this a five star. Aesthetically it is the best salad spinner in the market (glass bowl was not perfect though there were some bumps but it’s just a minor issue not a deal breaker) however the plate inside that supports and spins strainer is a bit annoying. Whenever you drain the water from the bowl it slips off and once you break the plate which is a bit thin the spinner is almost useless so you have to be very careful not to break the plate. Otherwise it’s the best spinner in terms of operation and utilization … it can serve as your salad bowl as well …. Highly recommended. You won’t regret it.
