Best book on George Michael currently available
Great book - with authorised input from George Michael himself - but only covers the period from 1963 (GM's birth) to 1990. Just a shame it isn't currently scheduled to be reprinted, so the vultures cashing on on George Michael's untimely death will continue to make money out of GM's newer fans who might not have had a copy when it was originally published (way back in 1990, when I bought my original hardback - long since sadly lost - for just £1).

Bare: George Michael, His Own Story
A great read for any George Michael fan. It`s a great insite into his life, love & friendships ( and quarrels with record companies ) lol.Like many biographies tho its typicaly repetative. Iv`e read three of his biographies and found them all covering the same topics - Nothing knew to discover about him & his life.Overall tho if you have not read any of the others, then this will make a enjoyable & eyeopening read

I just feel it goes off on a tangent about record producers etc and not enough about George himself. Still, it is interesting to read, especially what we know about George now.

Not so Bare...
This book was sold as the BARE TRUTH, but since it was published it was obvious that there was so much missed out, on purpose. I think George chose to miss out so much to protect his mother. George wasn't publicly 'out' at that point, he missed all the stuff from his childhood about his father and mother's unhappy marriage, his sisters' sexuality, and how his mum found both her brother and his grandad after they committed suicide. There is so much missing that it's not even worth reading now. I kept the book, and flick through the photos now and then but I do feel like it was a pointless exercise to write the thing.
