CONTEC08A-VET Digital Veterinary Blood Pressure Monitor NIBP Cuff,Dog/Cat/Pets (CONTEC08A-VET with 3 Cuffs)

At a recent vet check my 18 yr old kitty was diagnosed with high blood pressure and was prescribed medication so I decided to get one of these monitors to check it myself before our next visit. All seems to be working well so far! I plan to bring the monitor with me so I can compare the readings on our next appointment.My 8 lb little princess is not very cooperative when it comes to even taking a photograph so I had concerns I would never get the band around her leg plus have her lay still for the entire length of reading. As long as I pet her while doing it she didn’t mind at all which was quite a relief!The only thing that was a struggle was reading the instructions that came with it. The print is extremely tiny and the info was not user friendly. I had to google some of the terminology and took screenshots of the written language to be able to read it. Other than that it was easy to set up and use. Although most regular bp monitors are much less expensive, the peace of mind this machine has provided is well worth the investment. As for accuracy, I will know better in a few days… fingers crossed!

Our cat was diagnosed with high BP. We bought this unit in hopes of getting a reading when he is calm (he's super stressed at the Vet). Unfortunately, the instructions are horrible: 1. type set so small it's barely legible 2. no clear instructions on how to actually take the animal's BP. 3. No step-by-step instructional video (on-line). We set it up, put the cuff on the cat, hit "start" and the unit kept running, and running, and running. For 5-6 minutes. Most PB monitors you hit "start" and it takes a reading in about 90 seconds. Also, Beware: the return window is only 28 days (as opposed to 60 days with most Amazon products).

this worked well enough for me to use as a guide. Have lots of practice with small critters at work. I accepted the number if the heart rate correlated with pets actual heart rate. Vet visits stressful, costly. How many of us would be on blood pressure meds without a home monitor? The small cuff is a bit large for smaller cat, needs precise placement ( watch u tube videos), no wiggling. Do it at calm time only. Got smaller cuff for another manufacturer, just didnt work well

The machine itself was easy to use and figure out. I was unable to get it to give constant repeated accurate readings. Could be user error.. I read if I held my cats leg to high or too low above her heart it could throw off the numbers. I checked my cats heart rate 30x within a week and there was absolutely no consistency with the readings whatsoever. One minute it was incredibly high and 30 minutes later incredibly low... maybe it was just the one machine I recieved was off?? Or not?? For what it's worth, I returned mine.

Wasn’t easy to use on my large dog

I get some odd readings because my dog doesn't really like getting his BP taken and moves around. The insturment itself may be fine. But I have learned from doing it several times (and watched some YouTubes) when a reading seems valid. My vet asks me to carry this in and they look at them too. The readings that seem valid (again, you can kind of tell based on how your dog tolerates it how the readings have a median value) are pretty close to what the vet has. Not a great product, but probably the best out there to give you an idea.

We tried multiple times to use it. Read and re-read the instructions. Just couldn't get an accurate reading, even when doing it in the vet office and compared their equipment the readings varied a lot. Disappointing!

I work in a vet clinic and tested this against our in house doppler. The device was able to give me the exact same reading with a heart rate included! My dog is short haired so I’m unsure how well the device works with cats or dogs with longer hair. My dog tolerated sitting still for the 30 seconds this device needed to obtain a reading! Very happy with this purchase!

Tenía miedo de comprarlo pero me ha funcionado bien en mi consultorio veterinario, creo que los que no les ha funcionado no lo saben usar o no usan el manguito adecuado, me dió un poco de trabajo al principio pero ahora lo uso de forma habitual sin problema, les recomiendo también compren la sonda de spo2, es una maravilla

Works like a normal human blood pressure monitor. The unit from Amazon comes with three cuff sizes (small 6-11cm, medium 10-19cm and large 18-26cm diameter). Small size cuff will fit a cat and Medium size cuff will fit a medium-sized dog like a Springer Spaniel. Comprehensive instructions in English included. It is important to select the correct cuff size setting on the blood pressure monitor device in order to get accurate results.Keep the animal calm and lying on its side. Readings may be a bit higher if animal is resting upright. Position the device about the same level of the animal's heart. For long-haired dogs, part the fur to get the sensor close to the skin - OK to wrap the long fur under the cuff. Wait 4-5 minutes between repeated measurement.Tested the accuracy on myself using the large size cuff and reading comparable to measurement made on a human blood pressure monitor. I'm not able to compare the reading against one using a doppler device as my dog gets too excited at the vet and the readings are erratic.

Llegó en la fecha indicada, peero...a pesar de que viene en una bolsa individual y en caja, la pantalla no tenía protección, está sucia y rayada, la tapa que cubre las baterías está floja, no embona bien. Parece un equipo usado, no nuevo.
